VOLUNTARY HEALTH INSURANCE AGAINST CRITICAL ILLNESSES AND SURGICAL INTERVENTIONS

Voluntary Health Insurance against Critical Illnesses and Surgical Interventions may be concluded irrespective of the insured’s status under the Compulsory Health Plan. As a protective measure, this type of insurance allows you to be responsible to yourself and others, take control in shaping your future and add safety to your everyday life.

By concluding the contract on Voluntary Health Insurance against Critical Illnesses and Surgical Interventions, the Insured is allowed to receive pecuniary compensation not provided for under the Compulsory Health Plan, in the event of:

  1. critical illnesses first occurring during the agreed insurance period and/or
  2. surgical interventions and/or operations which the insured undergoes during the agreed insurance period, provided the need for them first arose during the insurance period.
The Insured may be any person who wishes to conclude an insurance contract with the Insurer.
Insurance against Critical Illnesses and Surgical Interventions may be concluded as both individual and group. Group insurance is concluded for the benefit of all employees, members of an organisation etc, according to the Policyholder’s list.
Insurance against Critical Illnesses and Surgical Interventions is contracted to the period of not less than one year.
Amount of the insurance premium depends on the method of contracting, stipulated risks, selected sums insured to which the coverage is written and other parameters determined by the Insurer.

Upon occurrence of the event insured against, the Insurer pays out the sum insured (i.e. a percentage thereof) agreed for the illness first occurred during the insurance period (myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction, malignancy, lyme disease and other illness covered under the Special Terms and Conditions), and/or the sum insured (i.e. a percentage thereof) agreed for surgical interventions performed during the insurance period, provided the need for them first arose during the insurance period. The agreed sums insured represent the limit of Insurer’s liability.
