The future of insurance in Serbia
05.12.2008
Dunav Insurance Company participated in the Fourth Annual Forum „Financial Services in the South East Europe“within which a panel discussion entitled „ Insurance- Coming generations“was held.
The participants of the Forum agreed that the world financial crisis does not pose a threat to the insurance industry in Serbia and that governmental incentives are required in this area in order to spur the growth of personal insurance lines.
„ Tax advantages were available in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and their effect on citizens is well known. It is indispensable that the government gives a boost to life insurance as this market has great prospects. The growth in the area of personal insurance lines shall not be possible unless incentives are provided. In the 2009 a considerably lower increase in the total market is expected compared to previous years, and a 16 percent growth is anticipated in this year“- emphasized on that occasion Mirko Petrović, General Manager of Dunav Insurance Company.
