The Director General of insurance company "Dunav osiguranje", Mirko Petrović, said that that company was ready to invest in development of local infrastructure by purchasing securities of cities and municipalities.

Petrović said at the press conference at the Novi Sad Fair that "Dunav osiguranje" had the investment portfolio worth 150m EUR at its disposal.

Providing of funds for regional development through insurance companies is well-known activity in the region. In that way, "Dunav osiguranje" would be buying securities issued by local self-governments and cities and, thus, contribute to develop-ment of municipalities and cities through local projects - said Petrović.

He said that "Dunav osiguranje" was willing to cooperate with all local self-governments that would be issuing securities on the occasion of development of infrastuctural facilities and he added that Novi Sad was the city with which "Dunav osiguranje" would be cooperating in the future.

The Novi Sad Fair and "Dunav osiguranje" have signed the contract on strategic partnership for year 2009 and, thus, resumed cooperation that was established this year. According to the contract, "Dunav osiguranje" will be the general patron of the International Agricultural Fair, Investment Fair "Investexpo" and International Automobile Show in 2009, that is, it will be present as a partner at all other exhibitions in Novi Sad.
